What do I need to bring for a day and a half-2 day hiking trip on the Appalachian Trail?

Last time, we planned a 10 day hiking trip, but we cut it short because we were way over our heads. I probably packed a 50-60 lb pack and this way too strenuous.

What about a 1.5-2 day hiking trip? How much weight in the pack would be sufficient?

for a 2 day trip you wouldn't need much water, food, stove, cooking gear, tent if you wanted one and a sleeping bag don't bother with clothes but i would recommend you change you socks every day maybe a camera and what ever else you cant live with out for 2 days and dont forget your pack i would just use a small/medium pack
